Waste of time because you can always prove you have one .it's on teh computer

canajanz1, Apr 23, 11:48pm
Have you got a roading office locally! Just go in there if you dont like writing letters . they will be red faced because your purchase of rego will show on teh computer. It looks like it says January!
Perhaps the warden had a brainfart and thought it was already 2013

gedo1, Apr 24, 3:12am
Something doesn't fit here.As another poster said, the warden will have taken a photo of the offending licence label placement. Request a copy of that photo to see exactly why they believe it was improperly affixed. There's anumber of infringements around the placement and validity of Licence labels that could be used by the warden and yours is only one of them.

gedo1, Apr 24, 3:14am
I suggest you don;t waste too much time.send them a quick e-mail saying that before you decide to contest this infringement in court you need to see their evidence - i.e the photo.

I got the same ticket but my rego was placed differently to yours. Still in the corner but instead of reading it across the window, mine went up the window. like on trucks.

Looks to me like you've licensed the vehicle incorrectly. The "A" on the rego label indicates you've got yourvehicle on "Exemption Class A" which is no longer legal. I suggest your letter writing will be a waste of time and effort, pay the correct rego class and display a "G" label.

paysanne, Apr 24, 5:33am
Never noticed that, purchased car with the current registration. Will check.

tuttyclan, Apr 24, 5:53am
(x2) You would have got a ticket because its A class licence I think a 'A' class is for farmers travelling short distances between farms only. You need to purchase a 'G' class licence.

smac, Apr 24, 6:01am
You never noticed you're paying a couple hundred less than every one else or your other vehicles!

paysanne, Apr 24, 6:07am
Purchased car with that sticker on about 3 months ago, hadn't paid anything myself yet is what I meant. Classic registration!

rpvr, Apr 24, 6:10am
If that is the case, then surely the ticket has been issued for the wrong offence! It would be the wrong class of licence, nothing to do with how the label is affixed.

paysanne, Apr 24, 6:13am
I could accept that it's the wrong class now I have seen that, but not what the ticket given for, also, I purchased this I good faith as being registered. Strange.

mm12345, Apr 24, 6:28am
Not having the (correct) label affixed. I doubt you'll get out of it that way.
This is bad luck, it's completely believable that you've done everything in good faith, and there was a change in the legislation relating to Class A reg last year - first I'd heard of that, and I doubt I'd have noticed the wrong label either.
There's probably nothing that you can do except write a very nice letter to CCC explaining, apologising and pleading, but not complaining.Unfortunately, I don't think CCC are in a generous mood at the moment.

bellky, Apr 24, 6:33am
No A class rego is for the purpose of bringing the vehicle up to roadworthy standard, ie. getting repairs done for WOF etc.

bellky, Apr 24, 6:34am
I'm pretty sure A Class rego is still legal.

smac, Apr 24, 6:38am
Yeah it is, as long as you operate within it's limitations (which has always been the case). Since the owner didn't even know he had it, I doubt very much he was within those limitations.

dr.doolittle, Apr 24, 6:40am
Classic rego is still a 'G'

bellky, Apr 24, 6:40am
Yip, still sounds like the ticket was issued incorrectly though.

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 24, 7:09am
Your vehicle does not meet the Class A requirements so you have failed to display the correct license label in the prescribed manner.

intrade, Apr 24, 7:13am
Hmm yea wrong classcan be dangerous , my hilux is regod tractor but i would not park it in town as it also dont has a wof that alone be a fail as tractors that go past 40kph need a wof.

morrisman1, Apr 24, 7:15am
ive never heard of a rego label being issued for an exemption, they just gave me a receipt each time

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 24, 7:17am
No, "exempt Class A" is not an exemption from continuous licensing - it's an exemption from "registration fees and the vehicle licence portion of the licensing fee".

intrade, Apr 24, 7:20am
Write in with all your proof that you did do nothing wrong in your mind and get a JP to stamp the documents befor you send it registered mail. and if they say you have to pay you write back that you dont think you should pay . also change soonest to the correct license as proof of your willingness . You have then got all proof for the court case in your favour to end when you got it all sent regod mail and stamped by Justice of peace.

smac, Apr 24, 7:26am
Proof! Proof of what!
