No, it's spelled "definitely".

having beensold a car with registration paid up or at least not knowing that it was not. of course they say not knowing is no protection against fines.

paysanne, Apr 24, 7:46am
Feel a bit stupid now. They say ticket was for wrong rego class. Never even checked! Whoops. Better ring the guy i was sold it by i guess. They said if i get it correctly registered they would consider waiving it. Feeling really stupid not to have checked!

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 24, 7:52am
So where did you get "Current licence label not affixed in prescribed manner" from! Had one before!

bellky, Apr 24, 7:59am
I'm pretty sure A Class rego is still legal/available.

bellky, Apr 24, 8:00am
Ok that makes it different.

paysanne, Apr 24, 8:06am
That is what the notice/ ticket said.

a.woodrow, Apr 24, 8:12am
Well if that is what the ticked is for, than the issue of the rego class is irrelevant, they haven't ticketed you for it. I would simply say that you deny the ticket offence and request a court hearing, and leave the ball in their court. every time I have done this, they have waived the ticket

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 24, 9:12am
Not for any vehicle primarily designed for passengers.

bellky, Apr 24, 9:14am
I don't think you're right. (I haven't checked)

Ps. Don't get angry with me ok!

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 24, 9:15am
You're not making much sense. Why would they say it was for wrong class when the ION is issued for "not affixed in the prescribed manner"!

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 24, 9:16am
So. ummm. hate to be Captain Obvious. but check!

intrade, Apr 24, 9:23am
the ticket would be correct for not display of license , as a incorrect label was there meaning the correct lable was not displayed. Just register it correctly as you said above they will wave the fine if you write in . Make sure you write a letter they can understand as they wont likely know the whole story or try to deal with the person who said they might wave it already .

Thought i was clear. Sorry. Notice said affixed etc. Lady on phone said wrong class. So ticket was not exactly correct. Will reg properly asap. Incedently car was advertised as reg and wof current.

smac, Apr 24, 9:38am
Well the car IS registered and WOF'd. It just doesn't have the correct usage for a normal car.

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 24, 9:38am
Then I'm wondering where the phone woman got her information from if the ION says differently.

paysanne, Apr 24, 9:42am
Not sure. She was responding to ny phone enquiry following up an email last night. She said she had just reviewed my email and was posting a reply to me but it was for wrong class. ION said one thing she said another.

pnh4, Apr 24, 9:44am
My Kp has the Rego upside & Im never ticketed when I go to town, so may they dont like the look of your car

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 24, 9:46am
Does the ION mention the section it's issued under!

And just to be clear, is it a Council issued ION - that is to say does it say exactly "Infringement Offence Notice"! Are Parking Enforcement Services contracted by the Council in Christchurch to do the work of parking wardens!

tonyrockyhorror, Apr 24, 9:47am
I'll try and dig out the relevant legislation - the area of vehicle licensing is a real mess.

paysanne, Apr 24, 10:00am
Stationary vehicle offence infringement notice. Section 139 land transport act. Wouldnt think they disliked the look of my car. 1965 datsun bluebird in original condition.

smac, Apr 24, 10:28am
That's just the power to issue the infringement, not the actual offence its self.
