Friends son has a rear wheel drive primera. Iv'e never hear of one before. Would it be standard or would it be a 4wd with no front diff and another gear box! Be keen to hear your views. Also, it has a north south motor.

Primera's all came out 4WD or FWD. so to be RWD they have either taken out the front CVs and welded up the diff, or fitted a north south SR20 into a 4WD shell (as the FWD does not have the tunnel for the driveshaft.)
BUT you say North/south, then im not to sure because AFAIK fitting a SR20 in that way needs firewall modifactions as the dizzy hits it.

From Wikipedia
"A rare AWD option was available known as a T4 with 150 bhp (112 kW; 152 PS)."

If it has a North-South motor then it sounds like it's probably been modified to run a Silvia engine & gearbox, and either a Silvia or else a 4wd Primera back axle.!
(Could be quite a nice car if it's been done right. hardly seems worth the effort and expense though.!)
