The Terrafugia FIRST flew waaay back in 2009.
Only reason it's popped up again is that this is the first flight of the production prototype (rather than the intial prototype.!).
In any case, it's not a flying car, it's a roadable aircraft, the difference is important.You're not going to want to use your Terrafugia for going to the shops.

And for my money, I would have a PAL-V, a Carver cross bred with a Gyrocopter.
They were making flying cars in the 1930s. So what is new, rhey never came to anything.

Cool. But I don't think it's the future.
What we need are smarter vehicles that drive themselves and communicate with each other allowing them to move fluidly through roads like in Minority Report movie. Once we've achieved that, then make them fly.
