Last time I checked aircraft systems, structure and engines (I have only ever worked on turbine engines) are very different to cars.

hornnett, Jul 3, 6:20pm
Mate cars are really not that complex, hope it wasnt the brakes or steering you work on.

sorry OP, didnt mean to hi-jack thread. If checking bulbs doesnt work, and you have limited electrical knowlege, and no wiring diagrams, suggest you take it too an auto sparky as hornnett says. (that part I agree with him on).
Caused more argument than I intended, I'm out. Good luck with the indicators

ontwowheels, Jul 3, 6:23pm
on the car or A/C! because neither of those systems are very similar on the two types of vehicles,

sr2, Jul 3, 8:21pm
.yeah.I'm sure you are right.(shakes his head in disbelief).

hornnett, Jul 3, 8:53pm
, So funny how so many of you want me and others in the trade help for free,no surprises there.

sr2, Jul 3, 9:05pm
Now let me guess; you haven't considered the possibility that many regular posters on this MB (including myself) just may have been 'in the trade" a little longer than you!

hornnett, Jul 3, 9:13pm
It is possible but after reading you and most of the other wise contributors posting in here I find it highly unlikely.
It really is easy to tell who makes a living from the motor trade and the back yarders/weekend warriors.
A bit like those that cando and those that cant come on here and talk themselves up.That whyyou will never come in a give advice.

hornnett, Jul 3, 9:19pm
Funny enough I have meet you and even worked on your race car.And it was for free as well.

sr2, Jul 3, 9:24pm
I think you may need to spend a little more time on this MB before anyone will take your claims seriously. That aside, welcome aboard; pull you head in a bit and you might even learn something or even make some friends.

hornnett, Jul 3, 9:29pm
Kind of to old to want to make friendsand really dont have any desire to prove myself to all the chest beaters in here.Hell used to have enough know it all customers to keep me going.

ralphdog1, Jul 3, 9:33pm

I can't, she is dead, and I guess yours has her hands full with you!

sr2, Jul 3, 9:52pm
We??

hornnett, Jul 3, 9:58pm
New Plymouth and you were having engine fuelling problems, but hey how quickly you elite drivers forget us tradesmen.

rojill, Jul 3, 10:04pm
Hormone problems !
That would explain your macho "listen to me, I know what I am talking about"attitude.

hornnett, Jul 3, 10:14pm
Well what DO you think the problem is with the indicators is!

christinii, Jul 4, 6:49am
Sorry have more important things to do then write about my day on Facebook.

Yes, I am aware its rude to ask for free advice from a mechanic. I rang to ask what they suggest and if their solution involved bringing the car down and fixing the problem i would do so. But NONE of those mechanics gave me a straight answer so i didn't bring the car down. if they had gone "oh yes its totally a flasher bring it down in 30mins and i fix it for $100" i would of too, but they didn't. All i got was "ohhh umm it could be this, this, this or this and it could take me all day to find the problem". I'm a student here plus a learner driver. If they can't guarantee the car fixed for under $100 then the car can sit there and rust for all i care.

NO! the car is not fixed because the a%$hole i got the car off has fluffed around with the left indicator and put a totally different bulb holder in it. So switching bulbs was impossible.

Bulb wattage is 5w in front and sides, 21w in front.

kazbanz, Jul 4, 7:00am
-Ok "from memory" 21w is correct in the main bulb and the rear should be the same ie 21w but try fitting a 10w bulb in the side holder and see if it slows the flashing down. -this will cost all of $5.00

christinii, Jul 4, 7:03am
EXCELLENT! thank you. Will purchase today

kazbanz, Jul 4, 7:20am
Hold fire---check the wattage in the back bulb first.-its entirely possible its wrong.
Also BEFORE buying a bulb .See what happens when you put the indicator on with one of the 5w side bulbs removed. -In the fast side of course
Basicly I feel that the TOTAL wattage is too low and you need to put more watts into it. someone else is saying its too high by doing what I suggested you are going to find out one way or the other

kazbanz, Jul 4, 7:33am
Actually Hornett I don't KNOW for certain that fitting higher wattage bulb/bulbs will fix the car. BUT I explained myselfin laymans terms and even if it doesn't fix the car its going to offer a direction to look for the issue.

hornnett, Jul 4, 3:10pm
So tell me hot shot why all of a sudden only one side needs higher wattage bulbs to slow down the flash rate!Gee lets start pissing around trying to solve the problem with guesses.
So who going to solve the problem,so far everyone has used what i call the shot gun system,in the end after you replace every part you might get lucky and stumble onto the fault.
