Go into the VTNZ or post office and get some more,was about $14 a set.You just have to fill out a form saying why you need new plates.Unless you mean personalised plates.

Post shop don't do plates anymore (haven't done for 4-5 years). You need a copy of your police report and take this to AA, VINZ or VTNZ for replacement plates.

Pop rivet as well as screw the new plates on to make it more difficult next time.
