I know a brand new car has to have a CoF done to be registered for NZ roads. After that I thought it just required a WoF every 12 months for the first 6 years.
Why would a car that is 12 months old have a CoF done - instead of a WoF!
According to a carjam report, it had a CoF at 12 months old, then a WoF 5 months later.

Taxi or rental.

A brand new car does not need a CoF. A CoF is only ever needed if the car is operated under a transport service licence. So the car you're looking at is probably ex-rental, or ex-taxi.
