Take a look at a Toyota Wish. They're not vans, yet bigger than your average wagon, and can seat 7 when needed. The 1.8l has excellent fuel economy (missus currently getting 14.1km/l around town!- different story when I drive.) Being Toyota they are reliable. Prices range between $8k for a 100k+ mileage car and $10k for anything below. 2.0l model has a CVT gearbox. Cheers

I agree except do NOT recommend the 2.0l under any circumstances
