Auto transmission problem

Mitsubishi Delica van 1995. Is not changing up properly. Have found that kick down cable is stuck out and won't go back down. Is there any ideas how to free it up and get it working again! If it has to be replaced approx. how much should it cost! Thanks.

L300 or L400! I was sure that Mitsus of that era didn't have kick-down cables and that they were electronically controlled (much like all the FWD stuff from the mid 80s onwards). Though having said that the Delica trans is much like the Aisan A40/A340 used in Toyotas so perhaps it does have a kick down cable!

It is a Delica not an L300 or L400. Yes it does have a kick down cable connected to the accelerator cable plate on back of carb. Have seen it and can see that it is stuck in the pulled out position.

I'm sure they have a sensor for the auto that reads off the throttle body that is also related to input of fuel. Best thing you can do is what we did, park it around the back and forget it.and save up for a toyota or nissan :-)
What you have is a start to many problems on the way :-(

A L300 or L400.is the model number for what is called in NZ.a Delica

If you remove the old cable someone should be able to re-make it far cheaper than new from Mitsy etc

Really! OK, step away from your car and get a mechanic to look at it.
