Free txt messaging from your pc to a cellphone.
Never used it to be honest. Could come in handy for some one.

www.carfolio.com (Car spec's etc) www.fuelly.com (real world fuel economy information) www.woodgears.ca (Engineer type guy who does woodworking, makes interesting machines etc, not car related but good shed stuff) www.acclaim.co.nz (Great NZ centric easy to use but powerful accounting software. Free for home use and you can try it for a long time for work purposes. Best I used by a long shot during my time in the industry)

There's an eclectic list for you! I will post a few more as they come to mind. One I havn't been to for a while but really enjoyed reading was that Australian magazine style car site, they did lots of interesting articles, projects and mods. Almost popular mechanics style, it has a name like OZSpeed if anyone knows it and wants to post it.

They were mucking around modding a Honda Insight among other things if that rings any bells.

I wonder if trademe would spit the dummy if we did a perpetual thread (separate to this one)where people could post their favorite but lesser known automotive type products they came accross.

I have some great stuff I use like POR-15, Kroil, Cunning U.S made Stud extractors, bevel box angle gauge, DTI TDC gauge adaptors, great homemade carb balancer etc

Even where to buy the good old colortune may help someone.

friendly_prawn, Sep 3, 11:18pm
yep sites where you can buy stuff externally would upset trademe.
They obviously want anything sellable through their site.
