1968-9 Dodge Dart GT "rag top." The inset grille shape and the bonnet were the same essentially as the Aussie VE valiant.
I drove a 1967 Dodge Dart 4 door many times and lots of miles too, it was a 225cid slant 6 TorqueFlite auto LHD. Lots of similarities to VE Valiant which was a mix of both Dodge Dart and Plymouth Valiant pressings etc, with Chrysler Australia styling variations. Good car at the time I remember. Also had a 1964 Plymouth Valiant Signet 200 TorqueFlite 2 Door Pillarless Coupe for a spell too.

agreed 1968-9 Dodge Dart "rag top."although a number of Aussie firms in the the 1980s -90s starting taking tops of the VF & VF 770 Hard Tops - This one is definitly American

67' or a 69' Dart . can't remember which. Not 68' aye! They were the best ones and had the round lights in their grills.

Valiant never had "that" particular grill but the VE valiant did use the overall profile though one of horizontal bars (inwards set profile of all the Dodge Darts from 1967 to 1969) the bonnet pressing of the VE Valiant is identical to the Dart from 1967-1969.
The VFValiant had virtually identical tail lamps to the 1967-68 Plymouth Valiant but the later VG tail lights were a lot less similar to their USA counterparts, pretty much completely Australian designed
Subsequent Valiant VF & VG bonnet/sheet metal pressings and grille profile was purely of Australian origin.
The front guard top lamps were peculiar to Chrysler Australia as well.
The VF & VG 2 Door Aussie Valiants bodies were actually pure Dodge Dart 1967-69 from the 'A' pillar back and differed from the Dart only by using the VF-VG front clips. Valiant 2 Door Hardtop VF-VG used Dodge Dart 1969tail lamps. The Dodge Dart 1967-8 used the same body aperture as the dart 1969 and VF-VG 2 Doors but the earlier lamps were cosmetically different being a flush to slightly raised design, just like in the Dart sedans of which I had a lot to do with a 1968 one I mentioned earlier.

If you look under Summer catalogue - Womens you'll see it's left hand drive so that would give credence to the Dodge Dart voters.

ema1, Sep 25, 11:39am
All the 1967-68-69 Dodge Darts used round head lamps. The marker indicator lamps varied between round and oblong shape though along with varying grille treatments according to particular model spec.

1967 Dodge Dart "Round Head lamps.
http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/1967-Dodge-Dart-Pictures-c6565 1968 identical to the one I drove heaps, loved that car too. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/413079/1968-dodge-dart
1969 Dodge Dart again round head lamps.
http://firstbyteashville.com/1969Dodgedart.asp

The overall body shape between the "A" & "C" pillars remained basically the same but had quite different front and rear body pressings and trim differences on Dodge Darts and Plymouth Valiants from the 1970 year until mid to late 1974 in the North American modelsthe Dodge Dart was replaced by the Dodge Aspen and Plymouth Valiant by the Plymouth Volare.in mid-late 1974. Both were sold along side each other from USA Plymouth & Dodge dealers in 1974 Other markets like Canada South America Spain and South Africa Valiants and Darts were generally a "Mish mash" from Plymouth /Dodge body parts bins and unique to those countries.
This was way after Chrysler went their own design route after the VG ended in mid 1971.

The Dart I used was actually an early Jan 1968 registration so probably 1968 or late 1967 production 1968 model( 1967 didn't have a central horizontal grill bar my '68 ! did.) 1969 also did.
Almost hardly changed from the 1967 model, odd trim differences was all, drive train was identical 1967 through 1969, then clean air crap became factory fitted 1970 on all cars, though late1969 were first to get clean air stuff ex factory on California & Oregon sold new cars at the time. Good times they were.
