splinter67, Sep 21, 3:36pm
You wish they will stick with the general and if they did move it wouldnt be to a brand that starts with f

rob_man, Sep 21, 5:56pm
You're right, it will never really interest me again.

Love him or hate him, the rate of progress is undeniable, and motorsport fans in Australia (& NZ), and around the world, owe Mr Cochrane our respect and genuine thanks for the effort, the energy, and the outcomes he has been able to deliver.

To all the Cochrane haters who "think" he ruined oz motorsport ya aint seen nothing yet.
V8 supercars is a business and because Archer Capital owns a controlling interest it will become even more of a "business"

Just wait to see the damage Skaife does when he gets his fat a** in the 'big wig' chair.oh don't think for a minute it won't happen.

splinter67, Sep 21, 6:22pm
You might be right there now how about those lotto numbers! LOL

attitudedesignz, Sep 21, 6:29pm

Not making enough for the owners !several tracksdebating wether they canstill affordthem at all , got like F1 circus, too big $ for all but the wealthy places to hold it !

http://www.speedcafe.com/2012/09/23/cochrane-linked-to-top-job-at-nrl/ looks like he might jump the fence just when supercars and nrl are competing for tv rights i wonder if that is good or bad!

rob_man, Sep 23, 3:11am
They would both appeal to the same type of audience.

socram, Sep 23, 4:11pm
Spot on.One of the real reasons for Aussie V8s not going to HD was that he wanted $1m to bring them.No F1 GPs make a profit for the tracks either and all are subsidised in one form or another, often with government funding.
For one round a year, it isn't really worth building any extensive infrastructure, temporary or permanent.

floscey, Sep 23, 4:19pm
How many permanent tracks closed up during Tony "mini bernie" cochranes dictatorship!Street courses gave nothing back to motorsport.
