Lamborghini VT 1997 roadstar

Seller withdrew the auction 20 sec before it closed , bids had reached 125,100, and reserve was made, what a $%^^#$%.

fiatracer, Nov 2, 8:13pm
no, that doesnt make him a homo. But it does make him an unscrupulous, unethical trader who shouldn't waste our time.

tantric5, Nov 2, 8:15pm
i agree, although their were a lot of fakers bidding it seems. He did give them until 9am to prove if they were genuine or not.

theyre the homos!

and whats up with all the tyre kickers asking questions when they're never going to bid anyways.

The market for a car like thats so limited

rsr72, Nov 2, 9:42pm
He tried the same thing on TM last year with it.
It's an old car and getting older.

flagheaven, Nov 2, 9:45pm
not the first time - he is actually one of trademes BIG sellers too !
just using his "other" account !

tantric5, Nov 2, 9:47pm
He should try sell it in Aussie! bigger market

esprit, Nov 2, 10:20pm
That car has "unsold" about ten times on TM over the last 2 years. Seller doesn't want to accept the fact that his Lamborghini ain't worth the quarter-mill he wants for it.

What he is doing is actually wrong. He buys a Lambo for $180,000, invents Lambo Experiance which is a bullsh#t company that makes no money, set up entirely so he can write the Lambo back in depreciation by 40% per year.2 years of ownership and it owes him $100,000 as us, the NZ Tax payer has funded the rest.I hope the IRD are watching and investigate this fraud.

jason18, Nov 2, 11:48pm
Nothing wrong with that.Thats called clever!

elect70, Nov 3, 12:44am
^^ yep IRD are no foolshe has to prove business use

advantage001, Nov 3, 1:27am
He would have to prove business use, accounts and a business plan showing it was a viable project. He would also have to show private kilometres used and business kilometres used. If private use exceeded business he would be up for fringe benefit tax as well as losing the depreciation which as sole director of Lamborgini Experiance he would be able transfer the loses to his personal tax. Interesting one, but the guy doesnt seem silly to me and I guarantee he would have done his homework and dotted the eyes on the required paperwork. I wish him all the best, great car, just a little dated I feel.

Hmmm - would I rather my hard-earned tax dollars subsidised someone to drive around in a Lamborghini, or to sit at home on the dole smoking dope!
(They both seem about morally equivalent to me, the only difference is in which administrative front desk of the government you chose to scam in order to get your hands on my money for your own gain.)

Sure a Diablo is a few generations behind the newest and most awesomest ones in the current motoring magazines, but in the real world is still a spectacular-looking, bloody fast car to most people. I remember in their day I thought they looked a bit soft and PC after the Countach, but in retrospect they have definitely aged better.

socram, Nov 3, 3:41am
Isn't depreciation for IRD 26%!If it is 40%, then the IRD owes me.

moosie_21, Nov 3, 4:49am
Should have bought a McLaren F1.

richardmayes, Nov 3, 4:58am
Dude!

I could have let your Diamante comment go, but the moment you compared a Lamborghini to a Holden Commodore, all bets were off.

Sure the latest Lambos are no doubt better in every way, and sure it would be a nightmare to run and maintain one. But it's still a V12 Lamborghini, and any V12 Lamborghini is a car that I could well imagine punters wanting to pay to have a drive of.

advantage001, Nov 3, 5:40am
They would first claim back GST on $180k. Then supposedly (as described) run the car as a rental vehicle which allows for a 40% depression rate on a used car (50% per annum on a new car). Then come sale time they would only pay back GST on the lower sale amount. Still ways around it.

Word is its Brian Tamaki's. If it isn't now, then it used to be.
