Power steering fluid is leaking. Sorry but how is that being pedantic!
If its only a tiny bit of fluid -seepage rather than a leakmaybee if you completely wash the entire area it may pass

A P/S leak can be pretty major. You could just clean all the lines, rack etc and try another station, but it's not really fixing the problem.

True but if it IS a leak & not just spilt fluid of some sort, then it will show clearly if it IS or NOT

To answer the question, yes you can. But it would be better to clean and check, if it leaking, even a small leak is an indication of a weakened hose which may blow comletely at any time. Just fix it.

No, it only tells the issuing agent when and the last check was and what it failed on, doesnt even show up until a pass has been entered. Dumb eh!

Not if you don't buy a vastly over-priced OEM PS hose.Take it off, take it to Enzed or other hydraulic hose specialist, get them to fix it, fit it, and top up PS fluid.Shouldn't cost you more than about $150.

yeah I know how you feel. Took my car to the Testing Station but failed. They said it was unsafe cause it had bald tyres. Perhaps I should take it to a different garage who might not notice!
