I would like to buy a sunday drive car, some thing with a bit of style/class .I like Mercedes but what model/year is best. Have a budget of up to $12000. Im ok with basic maintenance but wouldnt consider a car that requires plenty of up keep. What do all you car enthusiasts suggest.

I'm not a soft top fan myself, but it seems a lot of people are, even if they drive with the roof up nearly every day, I guess they like to have the option etc

Stupid suggestion. TA said 'Im ok with basic maintenance but wouldnt consider a car that requires plenty of up keep'

I see someone didn't read the title of the thread.
I also suggested a *manual* Alfa, not the troublesome Selespeed.for obvious reasons.
And if it's a "Sunday car", then any faults that come up won't be as frequent as if it was a daily car. Right!

156 + v6 + 6 speed manual. best sound, great looks, cheap as chips. pity about FWD.
