Cleaning leather seats in car

Just purchased a car and first one ive had with leather seats.

Whats recommended to keep them clean and in good condition. Do you need to put special cleaners on them from time to time to keep leather in good condition.

Yes, Mothers has a leather cleaner and conditioner (Repco has it) but it has been mentioned on here that the horse saddle stuff is really good.

To start with use sunlight soap and warm water, you will get most grime out of the the grain of the leather without damaging it or the stitching.

Some of the special cleaners are quite expensive.

I used Supercheap's house brand conditioner once clean.

Think of you seats as a pair of very expensive leather shoes. Not only do you need to keep them clean you do need to condition the leather to keep it supple etc.If you ignore your leather setas they will crack and eventually tear and look aweful.Cracked leather is not kind on your clothing either.
The correct products are expensive, dont skimp, use the best product you can afford.

Use a proper leather cleaner and conditioner for it. You can use the normal automotive brand ones or you can pick up a Pelle master kit that they sell in furniture stores/trademe. Just be sure to give an extra coating or two on the high wear areas. And repeat the entire cleaning and conditioning process every 4-6 months.

I recommend Meguiar's Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner/Conditioner. Does all that is needed and rub it in well past the gloss stage or the seats remain slippery. We use it at home on the lounge suite too.
