Pull the gearbox back and sit it on top of the cross member, not a whole lot of access room but can be done.

you cant use a gas axe sometimes you can do a clutch without fully removeing the gearbox like i done on australian camry toyota. Another one like them friggen isuzu with welded crossmember i had to reassemble the clutch thru the hole of the clutch leaver , Like hell was i going to remove the front axle so i could lift the engine up and forwardto get the 1 inch space that stopped me removing the gearbox. Be happy if you can remove the crossmember .
