FIRST question -something I recently experienced EXACTLY what kind of cd are you trying to play?
a lot of car CD players won't play burned cd's /copied cd's. Not a fault its the way it is.
if its not playing normal cd's -ie store bought then theres a fault.
pull out the paperwork that you sighned.
Is there an exclusion for the sound system?
If not then the dealer needs to rectify-but again he can't fix a non fault.
To help--what is the year/make/model ?

When you put the cd in just makes a kicking sound and very hard to get it back out .

so is it a Burned or shop bought CD?
anyhoo. The radio in a cube is pretty easy to swap out.

I struck a similar problem with a (factory?) Pioneer unit in an ex singgy Euro a few years back. Had an expert have a look at it and he told me that some cd players are like dvd and wont play out of zone cd's. First Id heard that but he had a stack of foreign cd's and they all worked but it just spat local ones out with "no disk". Just did a swopatron with some cheap local unit - solved but lost the steering wheel control functions.
