Don't get me wrong, I have a soft spot for Euro cars, I also looked hard at a Porsche 928, but same problems as BMW 850. If I had room for a parts car, I would buy another runner, probably another American classic. They are just an emotional thing, make the hair on the back of your neck stand on end when you floor them. Only real negative is the tyres one goes through.

Mercedes or BMW.

No. got a grand vitara suzuki which I had written off after an accident. Bought a mazda and subaru station wagon later both of which lasted a year and Mitsubishi RVR. Not sure what next. Would like a Rav 4. But dream car is a convertible bmw or one that has an electric convertible roof.

Many years ago I saw a still in its crate, brand new 1975 Norton Commando Interstate 850 in a private collection.
See my profile pic.

I have had my Chryslers, HQs & 70s Falcons.
But the 2 things I really coveted was an IROC Z28 in that Electric Blue and a Corvette (The one Face used to drive on the A team intro),

Can buy them both now, quite cheap too, but can't bring myself to do it. Some of the gleam has gone.

I was in high school when I saw this Masda 626 sporty looking car and thought to myself how and when I'll be able to get one, later on in life when i can afford to buy second hand cars I just thought it's not that fabulous. :)

I think we're forgetting this bits kids - ". and got it"

The ole comprehension certainly isn't flash with some of you. Stuff you've fantasised about but never actually owned doesn't count. I knew it would happen, but some good contributions so far.

In the process. when the kid grew up and I'm semi retired (most likely still working in my 60s as I am an "older" mum), yes. can envision myself driving a convertible merc or bmw

I did want a Valiant Charger (not exactly a 'dream car' though) ever since I rode in the back of my uncles Ranger ute flat out across the Canterbury Plains then later my big sisters boyfriend had a Charger. Many years later after owning a VE & VF I stumped up & got a Charger (nothing flash, base model type), what a disappointment. IMO slower than my 225 VF, average ride & handling wasn't that great. Leaked like a sieve around the back window which all owners Ive spoken to have had the same issue

"and got it", I could have, but preferred not to due to changed in taste and perception, will that count?

Liked the Esprit in the Bond movies. Ended up getting the model he went to the mountains in. I took it up to Coronet peak for some evening skiing with skis strapped on. Turned out to be ideal. 8min from my parents house to Coronet carpark.

I am a self confessed Ford Fan but the car I would love the most would be a HG Monaro, V8 powered of course, in standard yellow with the stripes as standard with the standard hub caps. Mmmmm. mm.

I always wanted a C3 Corvette with sidepipes and a manual transmission, plus I always wanted a1975 Bricklin which are extremely rare.
I have now owned both for the last 3 years.

Pieter

It wasnt as a child - I always wanted a BMW M5 V10 after seeing them on Top Gear

Finally bought one at a fraction of the new price and was stunned at how good they are. Have raced cars and boats on and off for years and this thing blew my mind

An absolutely amazing car - and all out of a 4 door slaoon
