I need some rust repaired to pass a WOF. The car is an old beater and not needing a cosmetically perfect repair. I am thinking of a cheaper operation that operates out of their house type of thing for this job. Prepared to take the car anywhere in Wellington, Hutt, Porirua, etc. Years ago I used such a chap on the Eastern side of Johnsonville, but can't remember who it was now. Anyone recommended a shop please?

These days any rust seems reason to refuse WOF even if its just surface rust, make sure to get rid of it all otherwise they could require a repair certificate which costs $$$

The backyard guy I am thinking of actually did do a certificate for the repair. He was a proper panel beater I am pretty sure, just operating from his house.

Just Rust in Tawa is pretty good.
Super busy though, you tend to have to book several weeks in advance.
Funnily yeah, I have actually talked to the guy in J'ville you mean a couple of years back. Damned if I can remember his name though.
