P11 Primera Trans

1.8 auto non CVT, 150k, has quite a harsh shift into second gear, especially when trans is hot.
Can this be adjusted? oil is a nice pink colour and at correct level.

It's just a broken spring in the valve body. An easy fix, but you need to remove the valve body and split it.

Depends on the model, but if it's a RE4F03A (might be the wrong model, can't quite remember). It will be a broken shift control spring in the valve body. The good news it can be fixed in place, but the bad news a trans shop will charge you around the $6-800 mark to do it. (pull the VB out, strip it down, replace the spring, reassemble and change the filter/pan gasket/new oil.) BTW the oil should be red and not pink. If it's pink it has water mixed in with it and the trans will soon die. A blown trans cooler pipe in the radiator will cause this.

The oil is red then, pretty much the same as the oil in the bottle, what are the parts likely to be worth for it?

Don't know. Spring will be something like $20 and a pan gasket about the same. The filter I wouldn't have a clue.
