Buying a car privately

Hi just done a check on car jam it comes up with . this vehicle issued an exemption notice. Does this mean the rego on hold, what else do I need to check before I buy. thanks

Yes it means the vehicle registration is currently on hold.Check if it has any money owing or any security registered to the car as well.That's the least you can do.

It had no interests lodged against this vehicle on the report

Is this an up to date paid report or a free historic one? You need to check the date of the report. If its currently on exemption then no problem, if its got a WOF or is capable of getting one then it can be relicensed again. If the exemption has expired more than a year ago and hasn't been renewed it will have lapsed. $$$$$$$$. You need to be sure of its current status.

How long has it been on hold for?If you're really interested in the car after looking at it,get an inspection done.But first find out if current owner will sort out wof and registration.Better he sort that then you.
And yeah ask the people at aa,more info you know,the better.
