Can anyone recommend one to paint a van with, are they any good?

A good one with all the gear would cost about the same as an average commercial job.

Unless they have come forward in leaps and bounds over the years then no.
Go buy a $50 gravity gun from any hardware or motor parts place. Then hire a compressor for weekend and go mad. Then when done toss gun away or keep it for other things.

miclan --for spraying a fence with fence stain yep great.
For painting a car then I would follow Gunhands advice.
ive got a 250ml gravity gun Ive had for over 10 years now and it still sprays fine.
