Check your battery terminals first. What year Mondeo! Petrol or diesel!

Can't shift it out of park! Flat battery won't cause that, not if it has enough power to still crank anyway.
There should be a slot/cover cap by the shifter on the left, you can get a screwdriver in there and get it out of park if youneed to move the vehicle in the meantime.
Need to know what year/model as above.
