Yes I know about them. They are typically a small metal or plastic cosmetic addition to the front and rear of a motor vehicle. They contain a trademarked logo or design and sometimes letters or words which relate to the manufacturing company who made the vehicle. An example would be three ovals stylized into a broad T shape representing Toyota. Sometimes the emblem will represent another manufacturer who has entered an agreement with the maker to sell the vehicle under an alternate brand name. This is called badge engineering and is increasingly common. An example of this would be a Korean-made Daewoo displaying a Holden badge.

Teenagers used to prize them off your car and put them up on their bedroom walls 20 years ago, and also removed any AA badges. I have been a victim of both thefts.
