App to check car error codes.

It's a diagnostic app you can put on your phone to check any error lights that come up on your dash. Its called FIXD.

It's in the add at the beginning of this video. I'm not sure if the same add pops up every time before the vid plays so here's hoping. Because this looks great. Thoughts guys.

I think it only works properly with their proprietary tool which is $US88 plus shipping. There are a few to choose from in that range!

I think price depends where you buy. but even at $US88 its still going to be a cheap alternative to own for any future problems that may arise.

This web site offers 3 for NZ$200 including shipping.

If you buy 3 you could keep one and sell the other 2 on Trade Me for $90 each, then yours only cost you $20.00

Prawn you are smart enough to get value out of a proper scan tool, not a toy OBD2 only checker that in my opinion is way way overpriced and so limited it's relatively pointless.

Trouble is until you have used a few you won't realise the difference.

My advice is to buy a Vpecker. It's actually a seriously powerful tool to rival $2000 scan tools AND it has free updates which is unheard of.

You know how to ask on here if you get stuck with it but really the basics are easy to learn.

Oh, and I haven't bought one recently but they were less than $200 last time I did. I always have one in my bag as a backup and it even shows my very expensive toys up on occasion.

If you are going to buy something like that you would be better with a $7 obd bluetooth adapter and torque pro which is like $12 or something. But the Vpecker is the business if you actually want to achieve something.

Not really wanting to buy anything, I was just amazed to see there are other options rather than having to rely on going to a specialist or a garage that has a diagnosis computer if you do strike a problem. Nice to know there are other options. I was wondering if others knew this option was available is why I posted.

Your advice could come in handy in the future though. I think technology is getting silly when something as simple as a flat key battery,a lose petrol cap or a tail light out can cause issues with the running of your car.

If I ever do strike issues I might take you up on your suggestion. Cheers Jazz.
