Didn't do the folks in that Mercedes a hell of a lot of good though did it. I prefer to die of old age myself, not by any act of running risks in a tunnel by speeding. 80km/h speed limits are there for a reason . not that bugger all folks including goats are going to condone/obey well that's their look out then . don't go whining on about getting ticketed if you get the camera flashing you. frankly serves you damn well right and I'll say it again I couldn't give a damn for those that do get pinged. end of !

I have been using the tunnel ever since its opened to get to work. In the first few weeks I noticed lots of people drove considerably over the limit and the camera snapped them.
Who needs tolls? they should have just hidden the cameras really well, the tunnel would be paid for in no time.
On another note, so far on 3 occasions I have been tailgated and headlight flashed for driving at 80 kmh through the tunnel. Why some people in such a rush ?

From what I have experienced it is not inside the tunnels that people are getting pinged, and I have been through hundreds of times in both directions. The speed in the tunnels is usually really consistant 80kmph. I reckon it is on the exit where drivers see daylight and the speed increases quickly up to 100, problem is the 80kmph restriction extends a fair distance before and after the entrance and exit. People gotta learn.

If they assumed there would be lots of speeding fines . then good on them . ping the buggers, serves them bloody well right and I won't change my stance on that view anytime soon. Good revenue maker it is and folks that are stupid enough to "fund" it all then long may that continue. be assured folks it will, nothing surer.
