What model of Santa Fe, an old one?
Horses vary in weight and so do double horsefloats.
Two mature horses at 600kg plus a 1 tonne double horsefloat braked with (tack storage area in front) would exceed the rated braked towing capacity of the current model Santa Fe which is 2 tonnes.

They might be. They probably aren't home yet.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Would a double horse float weigh that much? Would think the trailer alone would be about 700kg maybe. The Sante fe would tow it easy , it's just that the combined weight might be over it's limits, yes you need feedback from horsey people in the know.

A modern NZ braked double horsefloat is around 800kgs.
European is 1000kgs.

Yes I appreciate the old riveted aluminium braked NZ double floats will weigh less but if towing the horses long distances the newer floats would probably be the way to go.
