I'm looking for information on manual second generation Accents (00-05).What are your experiences with them, if any, anecdotes, reliability etc.I know it doesn't seem to be a well-loved brand in NZ, but I'm looking to see how well-founded that is, and how bad it really is in this particular case.Thanks :)

If you can get a good one in that age group under 2K go for gold. If you are actually thinking about spending "proper car" money on one they are not good value. They really are bottom of the barrel cheapest of the cheap stuff. There are cars that are not popular in NZ but are actually really good and then there are others that are just not worth good money. The Hyundai is the latter.
Also, remember you are really buying a newer older car (if that makes sense) so consider whether you are actually getting anything worthwhile spending your money on a newer Accent as opposed to an older quality car.
