It looks like a NZ code, BH is familiar. Maybe a pastel turquoise colour!

I can't find much in the way of NZ assembly paint codes online, BH does come back as an English Ford colour though. Unfortunately their codes aren't connected with NZ cars or Aussie ones. Most Aussie Ford codes were one letter or a letter/number combo.
The local cars had two letters followed by a number which was the last digit of the year they left the factory. That would make your XY one of the absolute last ones, being a 72.

It appears that BH was used for Caribean Turquoise both here and in the UK. Is it a turquoise colour!

rob_man, Oct 15, 3:14pm
That looks like a colour called sapphire blue which was on local assembled Fords.

Needs a bit of work Lookoutas, I'm looking at the bottoms of those doors.

Yup its a full rest job,I tried to get it 10+ years agoit was better then

lookoutas, Oct 15, 7:40pm
Yeah - I saw those doors too, so it's even worse. You'll have to give me a beer to take it away now.

I just leave it in the shed for 10 more years

lookoutas, Oct 15, 11:38pm
Bugga that - the rest of the hubcaps will fall off then!

rob_man, Oct 16, 12:43am
OK, the code is definitely BH. I cut my teeth on those NZ assembled cars from the 60s.

It's hard to read any of those pages but they appear to be Aussie codes, mostly single digits. NZ codes and colours are different.
