i have a c33 nissan laurel which was converted from auto to manual buy the previouse owner, but the reverse lights wasnt hooked up. I need to know where the old reverse switch was and where the wiring for it was so i can hook it up the new manual gearbox. if anyone can help or has any pics to help it would be muchly appretiated.

going from my xp from toyota mr2 gearboxes. they both (manual/auto) have a switch on top of the box that plugs in to the wiring loom!

ok, but the only wiring ive seen is inside the car on top of gbox tunnel

if it was a factory auto it will be in the engine bay on the drivers side just in front of the strut tower affixed to the box rail.
most likely (can't remember) if its black/ or tan/brown square plug with 9 pins.

i converted my 89sc33 with the rd28 to a manual im pretty sure there is a plug coming out of the rhside of the gbox that connects to the reverse light plug underneath the car

wiring plugs on vehicle to go to trans will be on drivers side of engine bay at front off suspension tower those plugs will have rev light wiring and manual box will have 2 switches(2wire) of which 1 will be rev

The loom from the old auto ECU joined the wiring harness at the footwell and comes out at the fuse box then down the tunnel to the side of the auto trans.
I take it that section of loom got taken with the auto box.
and after all that if you do find it, i dont think reverse lights are wof issue unless only one of them is working, if neither are working dont worry about them.some one here will correct me if im wrong.
