Hey guys. any ideas on why it would be! Is a fuel injection, auto MK2 golf. Has a missfire when starting up. That goes away after a bit. And it surges when driving. Thanks!

There probably is a common fault with those engines, someone might know. But, have you checked the basics, like spark plugs, HT leads, gummed up throttle body, etc!

Sorry stan I am not really of any specific help I have never had a MK2 so don't know what the deal is with its injection system. In general though I would perhaps start with investigating the MAF sensor assuming it has one.

Cheers guys. It has new spark plugs. Will have a look at the MAF sensor today if I get a gap. Will keep you posted. Thanks!
