apparently these are notorious for failing.
iv'e never had one apart, are they repairable ! and best option if ther'e not !ta

Have a look there, they are sometimes repairable but best to just get a 2nd hand, can be had cheap enough.

we used to either get used from affordable etc or clean contacts that get water in.

Are you sure its the Regulator.

Window no go is common - the cause can be 3 things - Motor faulty, switch faulty, Regulator faulty. Easiest way to start checking is power at the motor (they use a double post throw switch so there is 4 connections, not just power/earth), then if power at motor, remove motor and see if it works, if it works then must be regulator problem.

Quite often if its a motor, a few "taps" with a hammer can fix them.

Very common for switch issues, if it is--pull out, pull apart, clean contacts reassemble. That easy!

Quite often if its a motor, a few "taps" with a hammer can fix them. Switches often get dirty contacts, can pull apart and clean with sandpaper/small screwdriver. Regulator - replace it.
