Wanting to buy GPS for partner but which one to get!

Tomtom for me, reasonably cheap and super simple to use.

I like my Tomtom, but I would rather it had a mounting system like a Navman.
Where you can slide the GPS off the mount and leave the mount in place.

You must have a later model as my Tomtom pops out of the holder and the holder stays in place.

PS. It isn't recommended that you leave the mount visible as it says that there is probably a GPS in the car somewhere.

Most popular branded GPS also work quite well and are very similar. Its not a good idea to leave your holder on the windscreen or the charging cord left in plain view unless you want some lowlife breaking into your car.

Navman Tomtom and Garmin. All have the same basic function and will get you to where you want to go but the biggest sales point for me was Garmin have Free map up dates for life. Stuffed if I'm going to pay $150 to $300 for a map up date lol

New smart phones have the same mapping programs now as well.Something to consider if your about to upgrade your phone

ditto that, my nokia 5230 has gps, free nz, oz, usa, euro maps forever. also came with a navman type mount that goes on the windscreen to hold it
