When I turn the car on the dash lights all light up nicely and are easily read, but when I put the headlights on they turn off and I can't see the dash at all :-(I know they are meant to go dim, but these turn off completely.Is is likely to be the fuse or the bulb in the dash!Is this something I can change myself, or something I will need to pay $50 to the mechanic to change a $1.50 fuse or bulb!

You haven't bumped the control for the dimming into the lowest position by any chance!

Excellent!The controls are easy to bump accidentally and many people don't realise they've done it until they can't read the gauges in the dark.Happens all the time.
