There's a small photo in yesterdays Otago Daily Times of a 3 axle Hippo with a transformer it was towing to Benmore in the `60's.

try and find ed mansel (not sure if thats how you spell his name) he has been taking photos of trucks for years. maybe try the xtrucking site.
