VE rotary pump timing tool

Anyone know where the DTI timing tool can be bought for these injection pumps, or are diesel injection and turbo shops likely to hire em out!
Or, if anyone has one, would they be willing to part with it one weekend for a box of piss etc.

Sykes Pickavant in the UK make them, have a google or else contact whoever distributes their product here.For a one off job you may as well pay someone knowledgeable with the gear to do it for you, a fuel shop is unlikely to hire one out, a local diesel/4x4 specialist might if you ask nicely.

I'm a diesel mech so am not paying someone $80/hr to check it cheers lol, none of the stuff we work on is that small (road trucks, nothing smaller than 12 litres, generally), its a dirty old VK Commodore with a Nissan LD28 in it.

just had a looka ld 28 seems to have a cover in front of engine if its got a timing belt then it should be easy as to get to run right. you use the ear and the eye-ometer and just rotate the pump a millimimeter like doing a distributor on a petrol. when it smokes white or gray = injecting to late unburned diesel untill it smokes black for the first puffand then clears.normally you can see where a pump was before you just have to be 100% sure the gear side is not a tooth out.

Yup, mechanics all over the country are doing it as Intrade says. none of us have the tool.
Get it going then trial and error till it starts crisply and runs well. a mill or two at a time.

have you got it for 89 bluebird VE U11 cant seem to find tdc on gearbox side and partsmaster told me the belt they sell me has no markings on it to align.
I made my own marks and i think i am 1 tooth out on the crank.

ummm i dont see the injector pump its a 2.0 diesel ld20 type 2.

there is 2 ld20 engines old one and new mk2 has belt go over cam crank and ip pump just like toyota . i think post 9 is the old engine with crank to ip belt !

thanks will see if i can get a belt tomorrowwith markings . I am almost sure i am 1 tooth out on the crank according to my markings, and i want to fit a new belt as i seen a few strings exposed on some of the notches on the belt that is on it.cant be stuffed to see if it is a tooth out untill i got a new belt.
