I rode from Auckland to Wellington via East Cape last week, and then home on Monday, via Wanganui, New Plymouth, turned left at Awakino and came out at Waitomo. Fantastic ride, 2200 kms in all.

go park outside one of the m/bike shops in the morning and you'll find some others come in,start chatting and before you know it you go on a ride somewhere
