Looking for a seat belt for my 2002 Extra Cab ute WOF mans a bit grumpy about the old mechanism sticking and not realising or something! Started to really jump and down when I told him didn't need to work as I never use it anyway! Tried the usual clean with crc and degreaser. short and curly s are I need a new and they are rarer than the proverbial rocking horse poo

I suppose if the seatbelt failed in a crash its the WOF inspectors fault too!You will find a second hand one somewhere, remember that a lot of Hilux parts are exported now because middle eastern clients will pay more for them than whinging tightarse safety ignorant kiwi's will.Good luck

Quite often theres dirt/grease/fat buildup on the top runner where the belt runs over (the top loop). Cleaning the belt will do little, if you clean that top loop then Silicone lube the belt it will probably be good as new.
