The first 2 letters of the VIN should relate to Country & assembly plant. The next 2 numbers = Model. Next 2 letters = Year & month of assembly.
So yours could be something like this, in order to cover G JG40 (or 41) GG (then the serial No.)
J = Australia G = assembly plant 40 = Ute G = 1986 G = December
Don't know what the 05 is all about. If it was a Mustang, it would mean it was a Mach1

None of that information would have made it onto the vehicles description as described on the rego label though, it was probably just a typo on the part of whoever entered it into the system when it was first registered.They may have meant to enter Falcon GL and not Falcon G05.
