Can a aircon on a hot day drip coolant? I know it

maccado, Jan 24, 11:48pm
can water, but have never seen green coolant come out before!- the car has to many covers to check the radiator- other than the cap and overflow- so before I look stupid taking it to the mechanic- thought I would ask here first:) t.i.a

No aircon wont drip coolant. Might be a leak somewhere

No coolant should leak, ever. A/C has nothing to do with it.

Air con has a green dye in it. Used for finding leaks, with a uv light if only a small leak. Could be either rad fluid or air con. If it is air con, it will not be working now. Green dye from air con will also have an oil feel to it.

yup thanks a trip to the mechanic- was alot of coolant so wouldnt be dye I wouldnt think, Cheers:)

No, but the coolant could be leaking from the heater core and running out via the evaporator compartment where the condensate drain comes from.

if its coolant then dont drive it anywhere until you check the coolant level.

no point in cooking your engine on the way to the garage

maccadu--a PROPPERLYworking ac with no leaks willdrip clear water.
Anything that is a color is reason for concern.
The guys above have it covered off
1)DONT drive untill you check you radiator water level -and do drive to a mechanic/radiator specialist DIRECTLY
