Where do I go to get a car Im buying checked over?

I am buying a Subaru Impreza and have 3K to spend. Going over to Christchurch on Thursday and am eyeing up a blue, 1997 one on TM if it hasn't gone by then. Mum is lending me the money and her condition is that i take it to a Subaru place to check out and say what it is worth. her partner said a "subaru place" but shouldn't i just be taking it to the AA! Please tell me where i should be going.

Don't take your car to AA or VTNZ, they are pretty much hopeless at doing proper checks. Crowesport is another place you can take it to get it checked.

Take the car to Stubaru and get it checked there, they know there way around Subarus of course.I used to be a coaster too :)

are you a first time car owner!if so dont but a subaru it will cost you so much more for what is about to go wrong with it being that it is just a cheap one and you got no money.they are crap cars.

Yeah -- will be following another car home. I don't think it will be a lemon. not a first time car owner but well i only got my restricted a few months ago. first car i had was a celica, loved that car but it was a manual and i gave up on driving manuals! sold that for more than i paid for it but had bills to pay so never had a new car! then ive shared the use of rubbish cars.mazda familia's are the worst cars eva. :P the old ones anyway.currently driving a 1988 toyota corolla hatchback.i want a nice car i like for a change. il show you the one im looking at

Anyway you'd be better off persevering and learning to drive manual if you want an Impreza - they don't exactly have great auto transmissions and combined with AWD makes for bad performance and economy.

oh also.have a border collie and baby so wanting a hatchback and 4 door. I was considering a toyota caldina but impreza's have that real nice look

We just had a really bad run of familia's. We were driving home in one of those when it overheated in Springfield. husband fixed it but just one problem after another. we owned 2 then told someone not to buy one but they did and it died making it to greymouth too lol.

Oh haha, yeah fair call. It's good my partner is small, she easily fits in the back if it's more than just us. If we do end up having bubs I think my baby is going to have to go!

Don't buy a Subaru! I had 2 both only around 100,000kms but stillgave lots of problems and not that economical. Buy a Toyota Caldina you may pay a $1000 more but would be more reliable
