Hi, I am getting a pop or backfire after releasing the clutch when going up gears (1-2, 2-3 etc). This is in an sr20det s14 silvia running 11psi (standard I think). Any idea what this could be!

Does it do it every time or just sometimes! Do you have a BOV fitted that vents to atmosphere!

IT IS RUNNING LEAN. Sounds wierd but it is. Same thing happened to me, popping when changing gear, black soot on the bumper! I upgraded the fuel pump then this started happening, you need to upgrade the fuel pressure regulator and tune- serious damage will occur if its not sorted

Also standard boost is 7psi so something is going on there, if its boosting extra but hasnt had a fuel upgrade, expect damage.

I do have a BOV fitted, unsure if this vents into the atmosphere. This is my first turbo car - so not sure too much about them.
