Renault 25. Disastrous electronics that even failed while not in use parked in the garage.Speedo failed, would not change gears. Great car let down by very bad electronics and connectors getting a small amount of corrosion.

mk5 cortina. what we thought was a minor rust problem at bottom of windscreen when cleaned up swallowed a tub of newtech to fill, stripped the cambelt starting up to put in garage for the night, cracked bell housing that was so bad if you'd undone 1 bolt a piece the size of your hand would have come off , overheating issues that a new radiator + water pump + thermostat never really cured and final straw was just 9 months after purchase off a dealer was getting a wof reject list so long they had to put P.T.O on bottom of form and had filled in half back page as well. ( forgot about needing a new wof for the 3 months. lol) conveniently the dealer had vanished without trace by then. traded it as is on a telstar ghia which ironically burnt more oil than the cortina did , had engine rebuild under warranty .
current car in 9 thousand k's i've done, new radiator+ thermo+ pump, new starter , new rear brakes, new engine mount, power steering leak repair, drivers door hinges , the joys of owning an old dunga thats at that stage in life where everything wears out.

Ford Transit V4, the real early ones. Rough running uneven firing pieces if utter "droppings" hence they got known in the motor trade where I worked as "TransXit".The "X" is where the "h" goes .get it!

gammelvind, Jun 8, 3:33am
They have only improved marginally lol

ema1, Jun 8, 3:34am
So I believe.and you could add to that all the other Fords powered with that same series of engines.
e.g. Corsair, Capri V4 and some of the German versions as well in the Taunus model range.

We brought a brand new 2004 Ford Courier 4 x 4 Ute. Radiator had to be replaced at 100 k's, Gearbox problems with 5th gear slippingat 115k's and now at 125k's we have had the head and head gasket blow. We have spent $6100 in 18 months on this vehicle. There must be more Ford owners that have had similar problems. You would expect these problems on a 2nd hand vehicle done 200 - 300kms.

1992 Range Rover. Spent more time being serviced or repaired than on the road.

Turned into a chook house in the end

Without a shadow of doubt it has to be a Ford Siera.

big.b-lil.c, Jun 8, 10:35pm
mitsi sigma had it for years it never broke down but returned to the environment via rust. and a nissan pathfinder 3.0ltr diesel only 4 years old cracked the head and a piston

VR Commodore. Only car I've ever bought that didnt even make it home before it crapped out. Left me stranded in the middle of nowhere, in the stinking heat, getting eaten by bugs, for 3 hours, waiting for a tow home. Always been a Ford man too, that'll learn me for sure!

falconer, May 28, 9:06am
My works Ford Tragic, (Transit ) 99 model. Injector pump fail, Dif, Oil leaks, Body work does not work, stress fractures etc. Brakes failed. Has cost many thousands and it has only done 160 thousand.
