It sure is common, I had to help get my dyslexic mate off one also last week after getting a green sticker. Luckily I know a good friend of mine who is a lawyer so he kindly sorted it.

Spent an hour on hold / talking to NZ Police about it, has to take car to station with old wof sheet & an explanation of where she / the car was at the time the sticker was attached (just for kicks they are saying she is still in the wrong & that she is simply trying to bluff them) lol

Love it

Screw that. Tell her to go up the food chain. If she goes high enough they will not impose cost on her (ie a trip to the cop shop). Would look to bad in the media.

She should also start with the coppa who issued the sticker, or preferably his/her boss. Yeah it will be time on the phone.but at least it's them doing the running around, not her.

Pretty sure the red 76 hillman hunter was mine, the meter peepers down there were stupid kept giving me tickets andIi kept getting off them due to incorrect signage or markings on the parking spots. All it took was a quick trip to the library.

I had an escort rusty body i ownedfor parts , but still had plates on &parked outside wkshp on road . Council towed it awayto wreckers who had it crushed . LTA eventuallysent fine for expired reg over a year later & not returning plates . It took monthto get them to accept that I had no control over where the body ended up . Eventually someone with a few clues sent me notice to say it has been removed from register & no further action .

That's not a fine, that's the overdue licensing 'cause you ignored the repeated notices telling you what to do about the mounting bill.
They used to waive this if a wrecker would confirm they crushed the vehicle.dunno if they still do.
