Sooo much depreciation

I had a rental one.It drove like a tank - no power steering so heavy as hell at slow spd, sloppy at 100k.Hard to start & electrics were diabolical. Open rear hatch in rain & all water poured into boot.Drive through stream & clutch stopped working. Couldn't fit feet on clutch & brake together with boots on

my 1st 1/2 " drive socket set (SK Wayne)bought45 years ago was all imperial, I added 3 whitworth sockets , never needed any more and still dont.metric socketswere added but you only need 5 or 6. SK were good sockets & drives, pity you cant get them any more.

Which is great if you are buying secondhand!
Remember, depreciation if rarely linear and that can be used to your advantage.

Saw this today, very interesting

Some of the most unreliable recent cars were Mercedes Benz's which I have to admit surprised me a bit. Land Rover also rate very poorly.

On the subject of Mitsi's I have a 95 Libero wagon, bought at 70K, now coming up for 240K. Got trans done at 150K, and alternator at around 200K, cambelt at 118K. apart from that havent had to spend much on it, although I do oil changes every 10K or so. It is getting a bit tired now though and the oil is self changing these days :-) I wouldnt call it a fantastic car but it has been a reasonably good hack.

Friend of mine had a Cavalier. POS, wouldnt touch one

Also recall another friend of mine bought a late model BMW, had no end of problems, went through God knows how many transmissions. Ended up ditching it and got himself a Great Wall of all things, which has given him no issues at all so far
