hi, i've acar that's on exemption for about 2 months and 3 weeks. if i take the plates in and deregister the car, do i have to backpay as i would if i'd taken it off exemption! just don't want an unpleasent surprise like i got when i unwittingly sold a car that had rego on hold, then got a letter asking for something menial like $20 in back pay rego fees. i'm happy to let sit for 2 months 3 weeks then de-register the plates but would rather it out of my way now if possible. cheers lads.
