Putting Rego on hold. Does it cost anything and if you have 3 months of registration left when you put on hold do you lose that

Exactly.I even put our moderns on hold if we are away for 3 months, but you have to jiggle the previous period so that it expires at just the right time by licencing for an odd number of months such as 5 or 7 - and you can't do that on line as they can only cope with 3, 6, 9 or 12 months.

it costs nothing . it will go on hold once the registration has run out only. If it has run out then you can put it on hold still 2 month for free . 2 month and 1 day overdue and you will have to pay a fee to put it on hold. You can do the hold all free online with (somones )driver license information.

always put on hold 12 month never less as it makes no sense to do less you need to have it on hold 3 month or the registration will fully backdate as if you never had it on hold. The reason for 12 month is because you can put it back un the road when ever after the 3 month 5 month 8 or 9 month just get a wof and rego after . it does not need to be on hold 12 month just the initial 3 month. thats why you do 12 month no matter what only benefits you if you do that
