Much of a muchness but I would say the quality of the plastics and sound deadning in the Toyota will be better. Having been a Suzuki mechanic in the past and owning one now, I'd go Suzuki.

dunno, by 2008 the last shape corrola was 2 years old, where as the sx4 was new. take both for a ride I recon.

what do you want to use the car for! is it the 4x4 model suzuki! if you go skiing / outdoors, then sx4 4x4 (not 2wd). otherwise go corolla or swift or similar (not euro though) for round town driving. sx4 2.0 ato not good on fuel economy though. and a small fuel tank (45l) and light comes on after 35l. you will get maybe 350km per tank. you cannot get wgtn to taupo without the fuel light coming on.

Both those models were introduced in 2006.
I'd probably take the Corolla if only for better resale
