My 96 323i BMW displays a message saying " brake light circuit see owners manual" Brake lights seem to be working OK and the fluid is full. Any ideas what could the problem be that would cause this message!

Sometimes it only takes a slight change in the resistance of the bulbs to trip a warning. Maybe check the bulbs to see if they're the correct wattage.
